In 2018, ScubaCaribe came to us with a goal of redesigning their website to include an API-integrated booking engine.

The challenge? Ensuring that 9 country destinations, and hundreds of tour options, wouldn’t be overwhelming and cluttered for site visitors. We stepped up to the plate and offered:

ScubaCaribe needed to make sure clients could easily and efficiently book tours directly on their website.

To accomplish this, our team ran exhaustive tests using numerous software options. This was a time-consuming, but necessary, process that allowed us to find the best possible fit for the ScubaCaribe staff. After spending months testing eight different booking platforms, we opted to use the TourCMS API for the ScubaCaribe project. We then turned our attention to the following details:

  • Creating a website that is relevant to both local residents and tourists in the 9 nations where ScubaCaribe has a presence
  • Showing the ScubaCaribe team the benefits of investing more development money upfront to avoid paying the high monthly fees many booking engines charge
  • Designing a clean, easy-to-navigate website that holds visitors’ attention and only contains necessary information
  • Developing a custom contact form to give users an easy way to communicate with the company directly on the homepage. Chat, email, and Facebook messenger are all available, eliminating annoying pop-ups
  • Fully branding the custom booking engine and checkout process so users do not have to leave ScubaCaribe.com to go to a third-party webpage

The ScubaCaribe redesign and optimization project took about 6 months to complete. The new website went live in May 2019 with extremely positive results. Now when users visit ScubaCaribe.com, they are met with:

  • A seamlessly multilingual site that makes it easy for them to book water sports, snorkeling, and diving excursions no matter what their native language is
  • A custom booking engine API that is specifically designed for ScubaCaribe clients. The user-friendly process encourages vacationers and locals alike to return to the company’s website every time they want to book an experience
  • Optimized homepage content that boosted the company’s search rankings
  • The ability to easily refine activity searches and destinations without losing original results
